It’s a brand new year and this is the perfect time to set your beauty and wellness intentions for the next 12 months ahead. It is such a good feeling to know that you can start over and move your life in the direction you want!
Self-esteem is a must have to achieve all of your new year resolutions. When we feel good and confident about ourselves it seems like everything else falls into place. It creates a bright light that shines from deep inside of your heart and radiates love and kindness to everyone around you. Truly loving yourself is the first step to all good things in life.
But we have to be realistic that there are some tricks to feel more confident. Skincare is a ritual where you take a few moments of your day to be kind and loving with your skin. It is so hard to feel your best self when you look in the mirror and dislike your skin. Maybe it’s too oily with pimples, it can be dry with patches… Whatever the issue is, having flawless skin is helpful on your self-love journey. That is why we created a few steps on how to begin the year with great skin:
1- Drink a lot of water
The truth is: your skin is an organ. Just like any other part of the body, your skin is made up of cells. And skin cells, like any other cell in the body, are made up of water. Without water, the organs will not run properly or at their best.
If your skin is not getting a good amount of water, the lack of hydration will show by making your skin dry, tight and flaky. Dry skin has less resilience and is more prone to wrinkling.
2- Avoid touching your face all the time
Touching your face can make the face more prone to breakouts or other conditions because it spreads bacteria and other bugs. “Cell phones are also not ideal for skin and should be cleaned often, as are pillowcases or dirty washcloths.
3- Take your makeup off before going to bed
One night of sleeping in your makeup is unlikely to cause long-lasting damage to your skin. However, each night you sleep in your makeup, your pores become more clogged. Eventually, this can result in the formation of a microcomedone, which attracts the acne-causing bacteria to your pores.
Of course, there is a lot more you can do for a healthy skin. But if you start following these 3 rules, we assure your skin will overall improve.
Cheers! Happy New Year!
